Taking svbtle for a test drive
This is my first post on svbtle. It appears to be very similar to medium, just that instead of writing for medium I am writing for myself. It doesn’t have automatic saving which is a feature I didn’t think I would not see on a next generation blog platform. It also fails to save the article before clicking the preview button sometimes. When I click save the margin of the screen flashes green or red or green and red (I don’t know what happens but when I see the red flash it usually doesn’t save). I had a pretty spotty connection when trying to write this article but this is not a reason to have a bad sync logic. Also Ctrl+S or command+s is not mapped to save making me move my hand from my keyboard to the save button.
It has a nice preview that generates a new unique url for your post in order to be able to share with friends, but that’s about it. They don’t have a way to make contextual comments.
It has support for markup but with no realtime preview of what you are writing so for a person who doesn’t have knowledge of the markup syntax isn’t that great they will probably not figure out how to write code or

of code
Medium has a much nicer editor though it lacks syntax highlight and features for people who want to write technical articles. But has better editing and proofing and also commenting tools than svbtle. When I have a chance I’ll try to make an edit to this post from a mobile device and tell you how it works. Till now I am not satisfied how it works.
UPDATE: I’m posting this update from my iPad :) using the only editor which works surprisingly well! Taking into consideration the fact that it’s just a plain text editor and not a wysiwyg it should have worked. The upload images button is disabled although modern safari can upload images, but that’s something they can easily fix.
